TalentTribe is a job search platform that helps millennials research different companies & careers. Get an inside look into different companies' culture, office, people and day-to-day work life. Apply for jobs & internships. Access killer resources to level up your job search & career game.
Employers we work with include companies like Singtel, Changi Airport Group, Phillips, Shopee, and more. We help them build their employer brand so they can win over the right talent, and gain access to over 100,000 early-career job seekers in Singapore.
In our final semester at SMU, many of our peers faced the Quarter Life Crisis – as with 83% of millennials in Singapore. We decided to do something about it and organised an event called the TalentTribe Summit.
Over 5 Saturdays, a group of about 50 hand-picked students attended a series of career workshops, received mentoring from industry professionals, and toured different companies’ offices. It was a big hit.
When we dug into what the participants loved, it was the actionable career tips, hearing what different industries are like, inside-scoop stories about different companies from their mentors, and checking out different companies’ offices.
That’s when we realised there was a huge information gap in today’s job search process that does not provide jobseekers with the information they really need to make the right career decision. That’s how we got the idea of TalentTribe to scale up these ‘insider stories’ and office tours through an immersive online experience.
This fit right in with how employers were looking for new ways to engage & attract a new generation of jobseekers, because of the increased churn among younger employees and increased competition for good or niche talent. These are also factors that have fuelled the growth of the Employer Branding industry.
We have an amazing team across Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam and The Philippines who are on a mission to reinvent job search for a new generation of jobseekers.
Driving the team are ourselves, female founders Sharon and Stephenie. After graduating from SMU, we turned down full-time job offers to pursue the path less travelled.
We saw how many early-career professionals lacked the information they needed about the employers to make the right career decisions, and often ended up dissatisfied and jaded with their careers. In turn, this left employers with poor hires and a high turnover.
Leveraging a deep understanding of the millennial audience and lessons learnt as second-time founders, we’re building one of the most-trusted job search sites in Asia.
The interesting thing about our position as a double-sided marketplace is that regardless of whether it’s an employer’s or employee’s market, there are opportunities for us to leverage for growth. We just have slightly different tactics in both markets.
With the Covid-19 situation, hiring volume has reduced across the board. But there are a lot of opportunities for us to better help jobseekers get through this difficult period, which is what we have been doing to aggressively grow our jobseeker base.
Our team is constantly thinking about how we emerge stronger – not just survive – the Covid-19 pandemic. And there are a number of plans in the pipeline we’re very excited about!
Our team has been gearing up to launch our flagship TalentTribe Employer Brand Builder

There were several! The mentor networks we were able to get connected to, the other startups in our batch whom we’ve learnt so much from, and the trip to San Francisco were among the key highlights.
We met some of the most brilliant minds in the startup world during our trip to San Francisco, and were able to learn from the playbook of some of the best companies. There were so many takeaways we had that we applied into our business after that trip.
There are so many situations you face as a founder where you just need someone who’s experienced something similar to point you in the right direction. Or give you a perspective you’ve never considered. Or provide some structure to the chaos. Or even lay out the specific steps to take that will work. That’s what the EIR sessions really did for us.
We loved the sessions so much we made a video as a thank you to one of our EIRs!
We’ve got a number of useful resources for both employers and jobseekers. Here’s sharing some of the key highlights.
