Haulmate allows anyone that's moving house to organise everything they need to do in hours and not days, we really focused on helping our customers do that.

We're essentially a connected ecosystem that allows anyone to move house to organise everything they need from movers to storage to boxes. So, the way that we operate is we allow partners to come onto our platform that is essentially a distribution channel, allowing them to easily connect with those that are moving house.

In terms of the overall vision of Haulmate where we see the real opportunity is we see moving as a unique ecosystem or unique entry point into a much larger ecosystem and really what we're trying to develop as a connected experience all the way across the moving journey.

WHAT PROBLEM ARE YOU TRYING TO SOLVE IN CREATING HAULMATE?

It’s a problem most of us face and that is simply because everyone has usually moved house. We’ve done it multiple times myself and the fact is that moving sucks. Every time that you do it, you really have to start all over again and the whole experience is very fragmented. That's why at Haulmate we really believe that we can simplify the entire end-to-end experience and allow customers to quite literally move house in minutes.

So developing integrated propositions with real estate companies, agents, before you move and then after you move - we think there's a really big opportunity to move into the home and lifestyle space. For example - how do we help consumers find the right furniture when they move, and manage their bills and utilities. Ultimately the play that we want to make is when you move house, you can simply click a button through the app, you unplug your life and you re-plug ready to go into your next place.

HOW IS HAULMATE DIFFERENT FROM OTHER SOLUTIONS ON THE MARKET?

What makes us unique is we are an ecosystem player. There are competitors out there that offer end-to-end moving services, but they're traditional movers that offer their own moving business themselves. We really bring it all together to democratize moving and allow any consumer to be connected to any partner on one platform and allow them to organise everything someone needs from one place, which is very different to current offerings on the market.

Why did you decide to start Haulmate?

To be honest, it was a personal desire, it was an experience I felt so many times that I knew could be so much better. So it was an internal motivation, more than anything, and then as I dug deeper into the idea and really got to explore the problem I realised there are opportunities that exist in this market.

WHY ARE YOU THE TEAM TO DEVELOP THIS SOLUTION?

My experiences, I have a background in both entrepreneurship and management consulting. So I have a really deep understanding of customer and digital strategy, and have worked with large organisations all across Southeast Asia to drive clear customer digital strategies.

I would say moving is quite an archaic and traditional industry. I think that makes me as an individual really strongly positioned  to tackle this problem and come from more of a customer perspective.

Around me, I've been very fortunate to have strong UX designers, developers and marketers to help shape the products and the vision  in terms of where it is today. Together, we're creating something we believe is really special.

WHAT IS YOUR TRACTION SO FAR AND WHAT’S NEXT FOR HAULMATE?

We launched in Singapore in 2021 and we've seen some really positive signs in terms of early traction. We now have 10 partners sign up across different industries including iconic brands such as Helplink. Our average revenue per customer is north of $75 per service, and we're growing at about 30% week on week.

In terms of our ambitions it's really to help execute our product roadmap over the next year and develop something that’s a lot more integrated across different services, and a lot more streamlined. Then we'd be looking to scale across other markets across APAC.

ARE YOU CURRENTLY FUNDRAISING AND WHAT ARE THE DETAILS?

Yeah, so we're currently fundraising $300,000 and we're looking for early stage investors. The capital will help execute our product roadmap, as well as grow some in the early traction here in Singapore. Then in about 12 months we’ll be looking to raise our next round of $1.5M.
